For everyone who do their own maintenance on their cars, where do you bring the used oil after doing an oil change? Or do you use those box with oil absorbing materials? I've always used those boxes when doing oil change on my other car. Problem is the box can only absorb 5 quarts of used oil and the 6S uses 6 quarts. So what do you guys do?

Walmart, Jiffy lube and many other oil change shops accept used oil for recycling and do this at no charge.

There is another brand of oil absorber box that is blue and they sell at K Mart or Don Quijote. That one soaks more oil the than the more common red and white oil change box. Before using the box I use to put the used oil back into the empty oil cans and throw them in the trash. Although not the "official" way to dispose of oil it was better than dumping it. P

Around my neck of the woods, none of it is burned...it all goes about 10 miles down to be burried in a land fill. The city I live in also has a household hazardous waste pick up day at a local park...all the paints/varnishes/oils, etc you can drop off, free of chage.....they recycle the oil and incinerate the other solvents, IIRC. And they take lead acid batteries and fluorescent lights and insecticides/herbicides/fertilizers.
