16 vs 17 touring

What changes( if any) is there between the 16 and 17 in the touring trim? Just in case I want a lightly used 16 to save $$ or if a new one passes my budget. Thanks guys

For 2017, the Touring gained the following standard features:

electronic parking brake
Thicker front window glass
More sound insulation at key points through out the body
G-Vectoring Control
new steering wheel design
Smart City Brake Support
rain-sensing wipers
auto on/off headlights

IMO, I would not consider a 2016. I'm a little biased though, because I just bought a 2017!

Actually, my '16 Touring has the electric parking brake too.

I have read varying info, in different places, on whether the less-than-GT models got thicker side-glass (or not). I do know that all '17 models got better door weatherstripping for quieter drives... and I do know that the GT-only got a thicker windshield... but the side-glass enhancement for the lesser models - appears to me to be "not for sure".

Minor point.

Oh, also, the '17 models all got engine coolant "gauges" (or shall we say digital graphics) for the RHS gauge-pod.

Cheers!

For me, none of those is worth consideration.

Electronic parking brake is one more system to go wrong. What is the issue with a hand brake?

Smart Brakes, nice theory but as much can go wrong with them as can be right.

Rain sensing wipers. Really, a driver should be conscious enough to turn the wipers on if needed.

^^Ditto headlights.

Nothing personal, I just don't see any of those as a reason to buy or not buy.

The point I was making was that the person I quoted said that the 17 "gained" said features from 16 and I said that my 16 came with 4 that he listed.

Mainly the difference between the 2 years are pretty minor.

Those options come with the tech package on the '16 touring, which requires the moonroof package. Tech package also includes LED headlights, taillights, DRLs and the adaptive front lighting system.
