I've already got some 225/60-16 snows with almost the same rolling radius as stock tires. Will 16-inch rims from an earlier Mazda6 clear the brake calipers on a 2014?
I ran 16's for a little bit. They weren't for winter, but for commuting since I commute a ton and the tires are cheaper to replace.
It depends on the 16" wheels that you get. I had steelies, and they did not fit properly as I thought they did. The brake caliper, when operating, would grind against the rim and as a result I believe that my rotors are slightly warped.
After that I didnt really look for any. I am trying to sell the other ones on CL first to afford some newer ones. I was gonna look for a set of stock 17' ones (off of a new 6), but they seem to be very expensive.
Anything is cheaper than replacing the tires on these 19" ones, so I put nice tires on them and save them for the track.
By any chance did you get the steel wheels from tirerack? I was just searching at their winter packages and they offer a 16" option (as if they fit on our cars).
I was curious if that may be a misprint by tirerack or not (assuming you got them from there).
Similar question only regarding 17" wheels from a 2013 Mazda 3. Anyone know if these will fit the '14 6? thinking of buying for a winter setup with General Altimax Arctic tires. Any information will be appreciated before I buy. Thanks! tire size was 205/50 17 which I feel is a very good snow tire size.
Last winter was a rough one, lost 3 of the 19" Dunlops. I still feel like Dunlop had some sort of manufacturing defect. All tires with bubbles forming on the side with no significant pothole hits.
