3rd-Gen (2013/2014) Mazda6

We should see next gen. mid size car from Mazda around 2013. Reading about Mazdas new technologies and design I'm coming across a lot of hints what the next car may look and feel like. Here’s couple of things we know already:

-New Kodo styling language is to be implemented into design.
Mazda insiders happily confirm the front half of the Shinari shares more than a passing resemblance to the next Mazda6, while the rear hints clearly at the future direction of Mazda styling.

-Since Mazda investigates pulling out of AutoAlliance International in Flat Rock, Michigan, next car may be a global model again, build either in Japan or new plant planned in Mexico or other developing country:
Mazda is studying a plan to transfer production of the Mazda6, called the Atenza here, to a factory in Japan in 2013 at the earliest

Yah, right.... take that, subtract 95% of what you see, and that is what the production outcome will be.

Love the Kia headlights. <_<

There's nothing you can do to make (this) look good:

Eibach springs / MazdaSpeed bars / Bilstein / Steeda Adj FR links / Racing Beat RR links / GTSpec Rear Susp & Trailing Braces / Steeda shock tower brace
EBC Ultimax rotors & pads / StopTech lines / Motul fluid
MSDS headers / Magnaflow cat / Racing Beat mufflers / Cork Sport urethane hangers / WeaponX coils / AER CAI / Fluidampr pulley
EGR mod / FilterMag / Street Unit engine mount /
B&M trans cooler / Amsoil fluid
Mazda iPod adapter
/ CX7 antenna
Continental Extreme DWS / Bridgestone Blizzak

The first concept sketch looks like a Volt to me. We'll see. As long as the get the size right this time, they'll be headed in the right direction.

Trust me, your signature is lame. Not only am I president of "The Old Guy Hater Club", I'm a client.

Personally I love those drawings. I can only hope to see some of those body lines carry over into the 3rd gen Mazda 6. All I want is a Speed though, that will make me happy...

Nevertheless great find on those links! Lots of info I had no idea about.

The SkyActiv Technology 'sounds' awesome. Putting it into a US production car will
be a challenge. It's not too far away, it will be interesting to see how Mazda proceeds with this.

I definitely hope Mazda continues to create new designs as I think these ones are really showing Mazda's character. We can only hope that they will continue to design cars that we really want to drive!

I love the Shinari and the Minagi. They're both amazing designs.

They both look like out of my $ range cars though...unless I hit the lottery. I hope they're not heading toward just making "rich people" cars. I'll have to start looking at Hyundai's line-up.
