Trouble Codes O2 sensor

I just bought a 2006 Mazda 6 and it came with a P2189 trouble code. I know it points to the Front O2 sensor, but could be a number of things. The car runs perfectly. No hesitation, isles fine, no loss of power. It also throws a P2092 Camshaft Position code every 4-5 turn on cycles. I guess my question is, should I just go and replace the O2 sensor and then reset the CEL and see if anything else comes up, or is there an easier less expensive thought I should try first?
Thanks

2189 can be multiple of issues. 02 sensors, leaky manifold gaskets, vacuum hoses... Etc. First thing check the easy stuff. Check all the vacuum hoses and the air accordion for leaks and cracks. Easy way to do this is to spray throttle body cleaner on the hoses while the car is running. If there's a leak, you'll hear the engine rev up a bit.

When you fill up on gas, is it hard for the car to start? 2189 can also lead to a purge valve.

As for the p2092, replace your Camshaft sensor

Thanks. I'm going to try that. Yeah, I only filled it up once since I bought it, but it did for a second have a hard time starting afterwards. I'll check for leaks and replace the camshaft sensor and purge valve. I'll let you know how it went. Thanks again.

Before buying a new camshaft sensor you may want to pull them out and wipe off the metal dust that sticks to the magnet. Might be a real cheap fix.
