hi....

I got CEL P0171 last week...Removed and cleaned the MAF with aerosol electric cleaner and disconnected the negative battery terminal for a couple hours.

75 miles later I get the same code....Bought a new MAF and disconnected the negative battery terminal again for a couple hours.

75 miles later I get the same code. The guy at AutoZone was trying to sell me all new oxygen sensors, but I declined for the time being. Would O2 sensors throw a specific code if they were faulty?

Is there anything else I should be looking at? I'd rather avoid taking my car in, if at all possible.

Car is an '04 V6/MTX with 65,000 miles. Car is stock save for the a gutted air box (done ~45,000 miles ago) and a K&N replacement filter. I'm still running the original plugs/wires, although I would suspect if that was the issue, it would be a single or multiple cylinder misfire.

Any ideas of what else I could look at?

Thanks,
chris

it could possibly be the O2's getting old. i was gonna say its for your intake, but your Gutted Airbox should not cause this.

maybe even a vacumm leak somewhere
