I picked up my car from Jonathan, one of the engineers with Bully Dog, today. My car is a 2004 Mazda 6S and the only other modification to my engine is an AEM cold air intake. There is a very noticable difference in power and a drastic reduction in that low RPM lag the 6S has. The downloader is about 2 weeks away from arriving to me. With that I will be able to modify the settings or turn it back to stock. Unfortunately Bully Dog's specialy is trucks and thier dyno is too long for the car. If the front wheels spin and the rear doesn't the car enters crawl mode. In order to market the product Bully Dog needs dyno reads. The closest one I have found to me that will work for a car is about 2 hours away and if I can't find one closer I will get there ASAP. Jonathan is now a member of the forum and will be the expert on this thread I'm sure. From what I have seen I'm very happy with the preview of the product that I have on my car. I will get my car on a dyno and get readouts and Jonathan will have to let you know what the production product cost is going to be. I'm guessing between $500-$600 dollars. But I may be wrong. The product is good though for that extra HP.

I have the same CAN bus id Hex code as you,so Jonathan is trying to work up a tune around my mods and I have access to a dyno to get more information for him quickly.

Huh? Did I miss something?

The Mazda6 is a FWD car. The only way the rears are gonna spin on the dyno is if the car ain't tied down properly. Can't they configure the dyno for FWD application?

Nope,they have a much larger dyno.....more for Trucks/RV's.

I have spoken with the engineer and he is very knowledgeable and can dumb it down for people that don't understand all of the tuning aspects as well......Heck of a nice guy.
Jonathan is the only one currently working on this from Bully Dog.They are primarily for diesel tuning for trucks and VW cars, but they do have some tuning availible for Mustangs and a few others......

? ...how can one tune a RWD truck, but not a FWD car? If they just do 4WD, then it's a dyno issue, not a car issue as it sounds in the post.

....buy the way, are you the one that bought the DG Motorsports car from Ebay, or is it just your Avatar for the hell of it? i thought i heard it was on it's 3rd owner now, but wasn't sure.

I do have the car. I didn't get it off Ebay though, I'm not sure how it made it from Oceanside, CA to Twin Falls, ID, I don't really care though. But I do think I am the 3rd owner. DG Motorsports did the car right but left the engine stock unfortunatley.

As far as the dyno issue goes. The issue is that the rear wheels aren't spinning and the car's computer (even with the traction control off) puts the car into crawl mode and the dyno couldn't get more than 90 HP out of it. The RWD truck works because the front wheels fit on the [truck sized] dyno and the dyno can spin the front wheels with the rear. My car is too short to get the rear wheels on the rear roller. It will get figured out and Bully Dog will be able to get the product on the market.

They oughta make a flasher for the MS6. The DISI is pretty damn close to a deisel. Only difference is the type of ignition, and we burn gas.
