ok as most know i have been going back and forth with the ideas of superchargers, turbos, and nitrous. my better judgement has for some reason steered me away from nitrous.
so anyway. i'm deciding to go turbo. Remote mount will be my route. i know what i need. but i need help with one thing. since im going remote mount. im gonna need a oil pump to keep the turbo lubed up. so i started looking tonite. i know most BB turbos only need about 10psi of pressure, correct? Regular journal bearing types turbos, can withstand more pressure. but i think im going with the GT35R from garrett........big air and room for upgrades once i do the proper work to go above 12 psi. any i came across this pump, very inexpensive and compact which is what i want http://www.lube-store.com/products/23200 what u guys think of that? any suggestions, please toss em out there!

well i think that turbo is way to big for your stock motor, and the oil pump wont flow enuff oil to cool the turbo, also a gt35r is a wet turbo so have you planed for coolant flow any suggestions,

yea. i did the coolant bypass, so it'd be easy to extend the lines down to the turbo. i want the 35R because i have big plans later on down the road. full bottom end build and i'd be running 9:2:1 compresion before i took a chance over 10psi. and the motor wont be stock for long if everything works out the way i want it to. alrerady know bout the rod bearings, thats in the works.im looking for other pumps right now.......... came across a website a minute ago called www.shurflo.com so im browsing their site right now. i probably could go with a 30R............but who knows what i'll pull out my ass, lol!

I am going to go this route as well on a turbo remote mount.
I am waiting to see what tuning brings us.I have been on another local forum and they have quite the discussion going on converting to E85 with an engine built to run on it and take advantage of it's 105 octane rating and cooling properties being mostly alcohol. You can get away with 11:1 compression ratio boosted to 18-25psi on it and have no problems.Plus it is cheaper at the pump.I have seen first hand a properly tuned and built E85 vehicle gain in fuel economy over the previous gas build. One company currently has a 650whp build with a very small turbo.I can post links if anyone is interested.More power, better economy, and cheaper fuel...........................don't really see a downfall.

E85..............i have been keeping close watch on the availibilty of this in my area since the first rumor about it a few years back. currently there only have it availible to the transportation department. and soon should be having a station open up close enough to me to start storing it in some 55-gallon drums i have. i had a friend freight me about 25 gallons of it a year and a half ago from his area in minnisota. ran it in my escort for about a month. i went from hearing signs of deto at 21psi to hearing it at 26psi. and that was without changing my tune. and mixing it 75% E85 and the rest 93 octane. so this stuff is new age and definatly something someone who wants power should invest in stock piling. now as for the setting up the car to run it. its easy. i actually spoke to one of the officail involeved with the outbringing of it and the informed me that you dont necessarily have to have an E85 ready car to run it. you have to ween your car over to it slowly adding more e85 to the mxture untill your close to or at 100% the main thing to worry bout is what your fuel tank is made of, plastic or metal. E85 is pure ethanol so to speak so its corrosive properties are that much more. i believe most newer car have plastic type tanks, although i havent looked at ours as of yet. the next thing is your lines.........the rubber one may have to be converted to something else and new main steel(stainless ot steel braided ones also be installed. but the motor itself can run on it. the time i ran the escort on E85 im pretty sure i was over 400bhp...........HOLY FUCK...........spun 4th gear is all ima say. anyway Dave you and me stay on the same page which is cool, because i was planning on adding the E85 into my mix when i can get here without getting it shipped or drivin 5 hours to Niagara Falls for 105 octane at the pump, lol pain in the ass some times OH YEA- FYI..............the escort had 9:2:1 compression.......i know we have 10.....but its a good comparo

There are about 15 stations here in town with it at the pumps and they are in the process of building a refinery here in KS and a few more in the midwest. So it will be plentiful here.
The guys running the E85 in Kansas City just went to bigger injectors and a different tune. They didn't change anything else. They have not had any ill effects of the fuel on the rubber lines or injector o-rings.It is pretty interesting stuff to see the possibilities of using this new fuel. You want me to post the links of the build up?

Ive been keeping an eye on the E85 availability here in MD a little bit lately as its an interesting thing for the reasons you mentioned Dave. However what Ive found here is that there are only 5 stations in the state that have it, and for the most part since the first of may its prices have gone from typically cheaper than gas to 15-25cents more than a gallon of regular gas.
