So, I was jacking up the front of the car to do my brakes, the jack slipped and punched a hole in the bottom of the radiator. All of the coolant dumped on my garage floor, and my heart sank into the bottom of my stomach. A really bad week just got a whole lot worse and more expensive.
I know this is a beeyatch of a job, but I can't pay someone to do it. Should I get an oem radiator, aftermarket or an AWR if available? I don't really want to spend the money on an AWR, but since this seems so labor intensive, I'll consider it. Any other advice? The moral of the story is, don't work on your car when you are exhausted and can't think straight. Anyone know the price of an oem radiator? I have an 05 Hatch 6s MTX. Here's a not so great pic of the crack: [attachment=21581:rad.JPG]

not to add insult after the fact, but is that even a jack point for the car?

There is a spot on the cross member to use which is right near the radiator. Don't worry about adding insult to injury, I won't feel anymore pain until the bill comes.

Back in the day we would've brazed the crack, but alot of radiators use plastic tanks nowadays.
Is this a plastic tank or is it some type of metal? Even if it's plastic, it may still be repairable. Someone who knows what kind of plastic they use may be able to weld even that. A new radiator for mine costs about $190 on rockauto.com
