Someone is working on a turbo kit for Mazda 2.0/2.5 Skyactiv's

It was posted in the Third Gen Mazda Club on FB: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...5505135&type=3

"2.5L and 2.0L skyactiv owners. Who all would be interested on a group buy for turbo kits? We have two options, our entry level kits and Race kits.
More details details coming soon...
We are considering which chassis to handle first by interest. CX5, mazda3, Mazda6? Let us know!

Alrighty guys little update. This kit will have a full SCH 10 and SCH 40 Stainless Manifold designed specifically for cylinder temperature control, Moderate boost on a custom billet 18G (2.0) and 20G (2.5) ball bearing, front mount intercooler and complete tune. This will be our entry level kit version and we will be offering a group buy on this for interested folks. More information on that soon, dyno sheets, etc.

We will also be offering our Race version of the kit for a higher cost, with a Borgwarner EFR turbocharger, Full Methanol injection setup on higher boost pressure and creating substantially more power than our entry level kit.

We will provide write up instructions for install. User difficulty level about 5.5/10. Possible with hand tools and a jack. Pricing will be released soon. Moderate boost of 7psi. I don't want to quote any ballpark on pricing yet as we want to get interest from customers and develop the kit in a way that can be affordable."

They haven't announced pricing or full details yet, but just something interesting I thought I'd share.

EDIT: Since I can't change the title and I noticed after I posted that the person on FB is Matt at Orange Virus, that would be a good sign of who is making it, lol.

It's not a public group so you'd have to join the group first. You're not missing anything yet, I copy pasted all the relevant stuff that he commented.

Adding boost to these high compression skyactiv engines just screams red flag for me..

Read up on dynamic vs. static compression ratio. The adjustable cam timing on engines allows for the ability to "adjust" the effective compression ratio on the fly. Even older engines without fancy cam timing aren't necessarily working at the compression ratio listed on the spec sheet.
