it looks like i don't have most of the tools to do half them tests might have to suck it up and take it in

trying to find a back pressure tester local just to rule out the converter if that's not bad i will look at changing the plugs and replacing the first o2 sensor.

If your cat is bad, you'll feel a noticeable "bite" immediately after shifts. I can't really explain it, but if you pull away gently from a stop, the engine RPM will build until the shift, right after the shift, you'll immediately feel a "bite" where the engine feels bogged down.

I dealt with a bad cat on my 04. I ended up replacing it with a Magnaflow high flow one.

If you aren't having those symptoms, chances are the cat is fine.

i ordered the back pressure tester just to be sure i have the 05 6i atx with 2 converters has one built into the manifold and 1 right after the manifold with 3 o2 sensors.

i only get hard shifting from 1st to 2ed when the car is cold when its warmed up its fine planing on taking it in to see if there is a pcm/tcm update not sure its ever been done.

recently added a can of the stp motor treatment think its like seafoam to the tank and filled up on 89 130 miles and no code has came back yet might take a little longer just did it to see what happens.

Ohhhh... Ok, I did not realize that you had a PZEV 6. I don't think the manual I posted above applies to those vehicles. That could be why I can find no trace of that CEL code that you listed. LOL.
