Recently I have noticed a loud ticking coming from my engine while accelerating. It doesn't happen until the engine is warm.
The noise starts as soon as the gas is pressed and stops immediately when you come off the pedal.
At highway speed it gets louder and more rapid almost like a little woodpecker is in the engine. Not sure how long this has been going on, normally my music is too loud to hear it.
Just had the oil changed 100 miles ago. Noticed it two days before the oil change.
From doing some reading it sounds like either a valve lifter or a fuel injector. Just wondering what you guys think.

I would park it until you figure it out. That definitely sounds serious.

Okay, so far, the sound is still there. There is no loss of power. It now seems more like a rattling or clanking sound. With the engine running and oil cap off, I couldn't hear anything that seemed out of the ordinary. Again, the sound only happens during acceleration and stops when you let off the throttle. Gonna check my extended warranty info and make a trip to the dealer later this week.

Is it a tick or a pop...check your spark plugs just to double tap. Mine used to do it then I got Bosch +4's!

I think I will pick up a set tomorrow and toss them in. Can't hurt and the plugs are due anyway

I wouldn't recommend Bosch plugs.... Go with NGK's. OEM or bust.

They're shit. LOL. Ask pretty much any member on this site and they will recommend NGK's.
