I saw this on a site from an ad on this forum and it's very affordable, and looks like a standard short intake. Does anyone know why it is called an induction kit? Or why it's cheap? Or what that extra hose in the pic is?

K&N 57i Performance Induction Kit p/n 57-0615

I think the way it works is that second hose acts sort of like a ram air, bringing air up from the bottom of the engine bay to the intake. I have the proper intake from K&N and am very satisfied with it. I'd look around a bit more before buying this one. Try to find a AEM intake possibly, or you could even buy one of those really cheap Ebay intakes and swap out the filter for an AEM dryflow filter, its up to you.

If that extra pipe at the bottom is a flex-pipe then this intake would have alot of drag compared to other competitors. I'm pretty sure this intake is also only 2.5" in diameter whereas other higher priced kits are 2.75" (CP-E being 3") yeilding better responses.

As said above, a more effective yet still cheap solution is to buy some el cheapo one off ebay and replace the filter since it is basically the same thing as higher priced ones. (eg. Bomz CAI)
