I don't know what the Hell you guys have all over your hands all the time that it leaves smudge marks on the glass. I've done this trick for YEARS, and I can count on one of said hands how many times it leaves a visible smudge mark.

A little soap and water goes a long way, ladies and gentlemen...

I have had this issue since the day that I bought the car. It is a correlation of what you are wearing and the seats. Plus the build up of static while diving. It had been found that anyone using any amplification in a radio system or CB system will also increase the amount of static. although I have had little luck in doing anything that fixes it other then using the window trick.

FWIW: dryer air increases the odds of holding a charge. i.e. water conducts electricity so the humid areas won't build up static so much as its easily dissipated thus more apt to be an issue in the colder dryer winter months.

Most public transit vehicle do drag a ground strap to reduce the chances of the vehicle building a charge. Don't want fueling issues or pace maker people to get zapped in their leather dress!

Actually pure water doesnt conduct electricity. Its the minerals & crap dissolved in water which conducts electricity. At least thats what i was taught in college.

True - my reference was for moisture in clothing and fabric. Greater the Poly content = worse. Cotton is best.
