Huh? Here in the states we only have 2.3 4cyl or 3.0 6cyl... and the 2.0s in the Mazda 3 have a spin-on filter.

learn something every day! they screwed you over to! Yeah the part #s for the american 2.0 spin on base are located on 6 tech and soon as I get home I'll find the post with goldwing and crossbow cross-refrenced fliters kikboxr1 there is even a 1.8l mazda 6 and 2.0 awd. Sometimes when you sit down and call this 2.3 a slow pos you really have to sit back and say wow 1.8!

Apparently according the number of chasis/year the 1,8 and 2.0 use 2 different oil filter. Some models use the paper filter (element, oil filter) and the other the metallic/spin filter
