Any recomendations for engine oil for the diesel. Book says 5-30, which is not that common. I notice Halfords do Castrol Extra 5-30 synthetic turbo diesel oil, but is £42 / 4lt. I believe it takes 5 lt. Mazda oil is semi synthetic, any comments with respect to synthetic. The car is now under extended warrentee so I have to have the Mazda servicing, but, I would like to do intermediate oil changes. 12k mile oil changing seems too long.

I use Castrol TXT Softec 5W30 and it works just fine..happy with it, and the change interval is around 15.000 km
