Piled into the car this morning to head out to lunch, turn the key and I get flickering dash lights, gauge needles going back and forth and a clicking sound.
So after lunch I take the battery out and take it to a nearby Advanced Auto where the battery check shows 17 cranking amps. One new battery later the car fires right up. Hopefully that was the extent of the problem.
Well another set back. The wife headed to work this morning and the battery light came on, she turned around and came home so that we could drop it off at the garage that we go to. It didn't take them long to determine that the alternator was bad. Should get it back tomorrow.
I guess we are hitting that dreaded mileage and timeline where these things start to nickle and dime you to death.
